Eyrie Press Short Story Competition Now Open

We are happy to announce that our Short Story Competition 2018 is now open for entries!

This is our third year of running the competition and from the high standard of entries we’ve had in previous years we know we’re in for a real treat.

We are delighted that Norfolk writers Sue Welfare and Jon Lawrence have joined us again as judges, although we’re sure they’re going to have a tough job to do!

The competition is aimed at encouraging talent from our region so it’s open to those aged 16 and over living in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Peterborough. Stories can be on any theme but should be a maximum of 1000 words.

The winner will receive a cash prize and their story will be published in The Fens Magazine.

The Winning Entry of 2017

Last year’s winning entry was Real French Lavender by Jon Clynch of Peterborough. Jon was so encouraged by his win that he’s gone on to pursue his writing with vigour and has self-published two novels, which makes us very happy indeed!

So go on, send us your stories! We’re waiting to read them. The deadline for entries is 4th November 2018, entry costs just £5.00. You can read all the details here.
