WORKSHOPS AND COURSES

Writing Workshops and Courses

As a social enterprise, we support writers in our area of the east of England. One of the ways in which we do this is by running writing workshops and courses, both online and in person. We also enjoy working with other organisations to deliver literary activities of all types.

Read about some of them below. If you’d like to hear when we’re running new writing workshops, please follow us on social media or sign up for our newsletter.

If you have any suggestions as to courses you’d like to see, get in touch and let us know. Additionally, if you’re part of an organisation interested in working with us, give us a shout. We’d love to chat about how we can collaborate.

Prose to Print

Prose to Print was a one-day writers’ workshop which we held in June 2016 in Cambridgeshire.

In the morning, we discussed various ways of publishing a book – traditional publishing, self publishing, and the role of the indie press. We talked about the advantages and disadvantages of each and participants were able to ask questions and think about which route would be best for them.

The afternoon consisted of a Writers’ Panel featuring Sue Welfare, Jon Lawrence and Darren O’Sullivan in conversation with Claire Upton. This was filmed and is still available to view on our YouTube channel.

Filming was thanks to our friends DMJ-Imagery.

The workshop was supported by Market Place

(At the time of this workshop, we went under the name of Bird’s Nest Books.)
